• Community Meals - Free community meals are offered for any who wish to partake. Each Wednesday a meal is provided by local Presbyterian churches at St. Andrew’s United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson Street (use the Cliff Street entrance). Our church provides and serves the meal on the second Wednesday of each month. You can volunteer by donating food, helping with preparation, and/or serving the meal. Additional volunteers are always welcomed.

Meals are served at 5:00 pm Monday-Saturday at the following locations:
    Monday: First English Lutheran Church
    Tuesday: St. Paul’s Catholic Church
Wednesday: St. Andrew’s United Presbyterian Church
Thursday: Katie’s Kitchen at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church
    Friday: First United Methodist Church
Saturday: New Beginnings Free Methodist Church

St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank - Food items are collected in our food barrel found in the “Giving Corner” of the overflow area of the sanctuary and are taken to the food bank for distribution. Our Deacons also sponsor a Harvest Home food collection during the month leading up to Thanksgiving which provides many items to the food bank.

Meals on Wheels - Hill Church assists the Butler Meals on Wheels program by providing desserts each April and other times they are in need. A number of our members also volunteer their time with the program.

The Kids’ Weekend Back Program - Students attending any of the Butler Area School District elementary schools who are in need may receive free supplemental food each weekend. The student discreetly receives a plastic bag each Friday packed with child-friendly, single-serving snacks and easily prepared meals in their backpack. Our Board of Deacons regularly supports this ministry.

  • The Mission Support Committee provides opportunities to minister to the needs of the hungry, the poor, the sick, and the powerless.

Recently we have addressed immediate needs in the community through a coat drive for Bundle Up Butler through the Center for Community Resources, a collection of women’s hygiene products for the Grapevine Center, and a snack drive for hospital workers caring for Covid patients. We also provided Apple Fest and Halloween Trunk or Treat events for the neighborhood. Our deacons coordinated a toy collection for the Lighthouse Foundation before Christmas.
